2021 Holiday Gift Guides – Part 3

Special Mentions

Salon des Métiers d’Art du Québec – is an annual event that features La Belle Province’s talents and creativities. It is scheduled to hold just before the Christmas every year so the gift shoppers can take advantage of this event to find the most interesting creations local artisans can provide. The event was cancelled due to the pandemic in 2020 and re-opened at the new location Palais de Congrès in Montreal in 2021.

This 3rd part of gift guides is about special mentions. Over the years, I have the privilege of meeting some amazing craft people and I have learn a lot from them. To be able to share our passions on our creations and to encourage each other on this journey, I would like to showcase these creators here.

Garment – not any ordinary t-shirt

Back in the days of working on site, gentlemen wear suits to present their formality and professional image. A tie can be a sparkle to signify the guy’s unique taste on colors and his personality. If you are gathering with your love ones this Christmas, forget about the Santa green-red tie, take a look at tiesbyvalentines on Etsy. Valentines of Liverpool delivers great quality and unique design of neckties.

Two local artisans that I have meet in Montreal are Iruda and Michelle. Their works are South-Korea influenced with some delicate details on every single piece they have produced.

Iruda Flower – Florist specialized in preserved/dried flower and ballon gifts.

With special techniques on preserving real flowers and rare supplies imported from South Korea, Iruda creates gorgeous bouquets of flowers and other home deco pieces. Their workshop has been open since early 2021 and is located central-west region of the city, where workshop on making themed decoration and arrangements are held.

Michelles Workshop / Savonnerie un Monde de Rêves – Unique candles that look like real food

Michelles has worked with various shops and training school on soaps, skin care, and candle making in Taiwan and South Korea. She is a certified teacher who can provide a structured course in order for you to be able to teach your own class. Years of practices and perfection, her creations are realistic looking, including cake, macaron, and lemon candles.

I am glad to share with you my personal favorites. If you are into creativity and would like to exchange ideas or share your journey with me, please do not hesitate to reach out. I would love to get to know you and your arts.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all a fabulous time this holiday season, wherever you are. We will see you in hte new year!
