Soap of the Month - (February) Chocolate-Raspberry

Updated: Oct 12, 2023

We are still in the middle of the winter but there is more to look forward to as LOVE is in the air <3. Valentine's Day just passed and I was having a lot of fun preparing this soap. We made two designs, one with raspberries embeds and the other with pink hearts and kisses.

The scent is the combination of two of our signature soaps, Café Moka and Black Raspberry Vanilla. We have heard or tasted the intensive Black Forrest cake (with cherries though). As I was looking for inspirations, tons of raspberry cheese cakes and white chocolate raspberry cake popped up. I almost could not control my sweet tooth! (That definitely reminded me the reason I stop making desserts and move on to soapmaking!)

I worked in the kitchen a while ago where the place smelled chocolate ALL THE TIME! even my work clothes smelled so much after I got home. We baked a handful of brownies, such as raspberry coulis with balsamic vinegar reduction, cheesecake brownies.

According to History Channel, chocolate originated in Central and South America. The ancient civilization Mayan and Aztecs served chocolate beverage in daily basis or in special occasions. The chocolate bars and varieties are the hard works of Nestlé, Lindt, Cadbury, Mars, and Hershey.

As for the red fruit, Britannica states "Raspberries are an economically significant crop throughout much of northern Europe, as well as in the United States and Canada, and are thought to have evolved in eastern Asia. Raspberry fruits contain iron, vitamin C, and antioxidants." The sweet taste and flavour has been most people's favorite for decades.
